Who is rePebble + Core Devices?

What is Pebble?
Pebble began as one of the most celebrated crowdfunding stories in technology history. In 2012, Eric Migicovsky launched the original Pebble smartwatch on Kickstarter, raising over $10 million and becoming one of the platform's most-funded projects. The watch introduced millions of people to the concept of a smartwatch — a device on your wrist that could show notifications, run apps, and last a week on a single charge.
Over the next several years, Pebble released a series of increasingly refined products: the Pebble Steel (a premium metal design), the Pebble Time (introducing a color e-paper display), the Pebble Time Steel, the Pebble Time Round (a strikingly thin circular watch), and the Pebble 2 (with a heart rate sensor and microphone). Each model retained the core philosophy that made Pebble special: an always-on display readable in sunlight, week-long battery life, physical buttons for reliable input, and a vibrant app ecosystem.
In 2016, Pebble was acquired by Fitbit, and the company's servers were eventually shut down.

Who is Core Devices? What is rePebble?
In January 2025, Eric Migicovsky announced that Pebble was coming back. Under the company name Core Devices LLC (operating publicly as rePebble), we, a small team of passionate Pebblers, set out to build new Pebble watches true to the original vision, as well as other gadgets that improve our daily lives.
Core Devices is headquartered in the United States.
Hold on. There are new Pebbles?
Yes! We've launched three new watches since January 2025, as well as one smart ring. Here's a quick overview:
- Pebble 2 Duo (P2D) — A black-and-white e-paper smartwatch, the spiritual successor to the Pebble 2.
- Pebble Time 2 (PT2) — A color e-paper smartwatch with heart rate monitoring. Like the original Pebble Time 2 (from the 2016 campaign), but better!
- Pebble Round 2 (PR2) — A circular color e-paper smartwatch, the successor to the beloved Pebble Time Round.
- Pebble Index 01 — A voice/note taking ring, designed to be external memory for your brain.
