🏃 Pebble - Help and Getting Started

Updated yesterday

Quick Start Guide

Already know what you're doing and want to jump into it?

  1. Download the Pebble app:

  2. Pair your Pebble.

  3. Tap Apps on the bottom left of your phone's Pebble app and add some watchfaces or apps to your watch.

Want to know what a Pebble can and can't do?

Let’s jump into setting up your watch

Having trouble?

  • Report a problem to us in the Pebble App → Settings → New Bug Report or email us at [email protected]

  • Do not hesitate to do this for any issue you may run into! It annoys us more if you don’t report a bug than if you do

Things to know about your Pebble Time 2:

  • The average battery life with the current version of PebbleOS is 14 days right now. Using a watch face that has a lot of animations or updates every second will reduce your battery life. We’ve confirmed that the underlying hardware supports our target 4 weeks battery life. We’re continuing to work on reducing power consumption through PebbleOS software updates. As a reference point, Pebble 2 Duo currently averages 18 days of battery life across all users (depending on usage of backlight, vibrating motor and watchface).

  • It runs all the old Pebble watch faces that you know and love - browse them at apps.rePebble.com. You can sign in and begin to collect your favourites! For developers, we've updated the SDK to add a new way to make apps purely in JavaScript, and CloudPebble is back!

  • We’re continually releasing software updates - check out the Pebble mobile app changelog and the PebbleOS changelog! Some new hardware features, like the touchscreen, speaker, second mic, four week battery life and RGB backlight, are not enabled in PebbleOS yet. We’re working on it all!

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fix (almost) any problem? Hard reset your Pebble

Use this as a last resort if nothing else fixes the problem.

  1. Hold left button + top right + center right buttons (all together) for 30 seconds or until your watch displays a progress bar

  2. On your phone, go to the iOS or Android system Bluetooth menu, and forget all Pebble watches. Be sure to Forget your watch in the Pebble app as well. Restart your phone.

  3. In the Pebble app, go to Devices, then click the + button to pair your watch

My Pebble isn't connecting to my phone. What do I do?

  • Toggle Bluetooth off/on on your watch (menu → settings → Bluetooth → press center right button twice), then restart your phone and open the Pebble app again.

  • Restart your watch - hold down the left button for 10 seconds until you see the Pebble logo

  • Unpair ALL phones from your watch by going to (Settings → Bluetooth → Forget). In the Pebble app, tap ‘Forget’ for your respective watch, then forget all Pebbles in your phone’s Bluetooth pairing list. Reopen the Pebble app and press + to pair again!

  • You MUST pair with Pebble from inside the Pebble app on your phone. Do not use your phone’s Bluetooth menu to pair with your watch.

How do I install other language packs?

Pebble community members have developed language packs for many other languages.

  • Español (Spanish)

In the Pebble mobile app, tap on your device then tap on ‘Install Language Pack’, then tap on the language you want, then tap ‘Install’

I’m having connection issues (general)

As of right now, you must only have 1 phone paired at a time to your watch. Forget all others by navigating to Settings > Bluetooth and forgetting your other devices.

The connection between my Android phone and an old Pebble is not reliable

Try connecting to your Pebble normally (on the devices screen, your old Pebble may show as ‘LE’ which stands for Low Energy), then go to Pebble mobile app → Settings → check ‘Prefer BT Classic’ (this will take effect the next time you reconnect). Then go to Devices, tap ‘Disconnect’ and ‘Connect’.

I’m having trouble pairing my old Pebble

If you are on the latest app version and cannot pair your old Pebble (it may ask for pairing confirmation, then cycle between connecting/negotiating), try disconnecting in the app, removing pairings from both watch and phone, then restarting the watch (which can get into a bad state).

I’m not getting notifications from my iPhone!

Go to iPhone settings → notifications → for each app, change Show Previews to "When Unlocked" from "Never”

The Pebble app crashes once I tap + on my Android phone

In the mobile app, head to the Settings page and disable Companion Device Manager. Then, try pairing your watch again!

I have a Xiaomi phone and notifications aren’t working reliably!

Try adding Pebble to the list of apps that are automatically started when the phone starts. It is accessible from settings → applications → authorizations → background. After adding it to this list, please resart your phone.

Installing PebbleOS from Recovery Mode (QR code) fails!

When installing an update from Recovery Mode (when the QR code is on your watch screen), try disconnecting your watch from the charger while PebbleOS installs. If you still can’t update, send us a bug report!

My watch resets to 12:00AM 01/01/1970 after a shutdown.

Hardware limitations for Pebble 2 Duo prevent it from keeping time when completely powered off. System time will be restored after a connection to your phone is established again.

I can’t tap to turn on the backlight!

Try flicking your wrist! That's how it works.

My watch is showing fe504504, what do I do?

  • Hold Back + Up + Select for 30 seconds or until your watch displays a progress bar.

  • Go to the Pebble mobile app and forget your device. Close the app.

  • In iOS or Android Bluetooth settings, forget your watch

  • Reopen the Pebble app and tap + to repair.

My watch is disconnected but still receives notifications. I have an iPhone.

There are two connected modes for iPhone:

  1. One where you get notifications

  2. One where your watch faces sync in the background

Notifications on my watch don’t seem to follow my timeout settings!

PebbleOS currently does not clear notifications while Quiet Time is enabled. This is a feature, so you don’t miss messages while in Quiet Time 😉

I’m getting vibrations while I’m asleep!

You can silence notifications on your watch by enabling Quiet Time. Either:

  • Enable by long-pressing the back button while on a watchface (wait for the mouse to pop up!)

  • Navigate to Settings > Quiet Time on your watch to set a schedule
